Richard is an experienced ornithologist/ecologist who has been studying and working as a Wildlife Guide and in Nature Conservation for over 30 years. From recording UK migrant birds as a volunteer for Flamborough Bird Observatory to monitoring Siberian migrants in China; he has become highly experienced in bird identification and ecology. Mark Pearson

Mark is an obsessive Yorkshire coast birder and naturalist whose roles include wildlife guide, ecologist, speaker, writer and educator. He is regularly asked to share his knowledge and enthusiasm on TV and radio and delights in spreading the gospel by any means necessary, whether through outreach, education and community engagement or campaigning on local, national and international stages for conservation. He is equally happy leading a YCN tour, being surrounded by a class of 30 urban schoolkids or seawatching for eight hours in a gale force northerly.

Margaret has been a keen birder from an early age, growing up in the Ribble Valley, in Lancashire. She has lived in East Yorkshire for the past 25 years and has gained excellent knowledge of the local birding sites. She is an experienced teacher both in the classroom and in the outdoor environment; with a background in agricultural science and biology. Jono Leadley

An experienced naturalist, Jono has a lifelong passion for wildlife and has worked in nature conservation for almost 20 years. For most of his career, Jono has focussed on PR, communications and fundraising but has recently switched on to the operational side of nature conservation. Currently, Jono works for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust where he heads up the North Yorkshire team, overseeing the management of over 30 nature reserves and a wide range of projects. John is an experienced bird and wildlife tour leader. As well as the UK John has led tours as far afield as Mongolia and Tierra del Fuego. He is currently a principal leader with Bird Holidays Worldwide based in Yeadon, Leeds. You may also know him for his previous work with optics specialist In Focus. Paul Wheatley

Paul is a keen birder with a passion for observing Yorkshire's amazing wildlife. He is a specialist in the rapidly evolving photographic discipline of phonescoping: combining a spotting scope with a common or garden smartphone to photograph or film birds and other wildlife. His footage has featured on BBC Springwatch and in Audubon Science. Paul loves the great British countryside, but has soft spot for urban birding and his local Leeds Peregrine Falcons.
